We live in a time when access to information has never been easier. Podcasts, YouTube videos, newsletters, webinars—we consume them endlessly. And yet, across every sphere of my life—personal, professional, spiritual—I continue to see one consistent pattern: we don’t implement.
Despite the motivational talk, the brilliant frameworks, and the flood of advice, many of us stay stuck. We’re overwhelmed, distracted, and exhausted by the very information that was supposed to set us free. It’s not that we lack ideas. We lack execution.
Whether I’m working with business owners, CPA partners, or even friends in my personal life, the story is the same: so much consumption, so little follow-through. We set goals, make promises, declare intentions—but don’t move.
“Faith without works is dead.”
Regardless of your spiritual views, this principle resonates. Hope and vision mean little without steps taken in reality.
In 2019, I began a strategic partnership with Elite Resource Team and started building what is now Collective VFO. One of the partners and coaches I’ve worked with consistently on this journey is Ian Welham. Ian introduced me to the Implementation Pathway—a system not built around hype or hacks, but around consistency.
Since then, we’ve met regularly to refine strategy, clarify next steps, and—most importantly—commit to action. That discipline has made all the difference. It’s what changed the trajectory of my business, and it’s why implementation has become more than a goal—it’s a mindset.
“In business, strategy sets the direction—but implementation drives the result. Execution is everything.”
— Ian Welham, Elite Resource Team
I haven’t just grown as a business owner—I’ve become something more: a coach to others. And while the Implementation Pathway has been an incredible catalyst for my business, my evolution into this role didn’t start there. It’s the result of a lifetime of taking action—of consistently implementing, learning, and persisting through both challenges and successes.
Throughout my life, I’ve developed through a wide range of personal and leadership experiences—serving in church, coaching youth sports, mentoring as a Scoutmaster, and, most importantly, parenting my children.
These moments have all been part of the same theme: learning through doing. Even as a child, I remember receiving a plaque in sixth grade that read: Mr. Persistent. That mindset never left me.
Persistence—combined with consistent action—has shaped who I am today. Life has a way of piling things on us, distracting us, weighing us down with doubts, discouragement, or fatigue. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you have to keep moving. Even small steps matter. They add up.
At Collective VFO, our model isn’t just about services—it’s about structure that creates results. I now coach professionals across the country on how to implement high-value planning processes into their firms. Whether it’s helping CPAs activate client relationships or guiding advisors through multi-disciplinary planning cases, my role has become that of a mentor, facilitator, and builder.
Implementation isn’t glamorous. But it’s powerful. And it creates momentum that no motivational podcast ever will.
You don’t change your business through knowledge alone—you change it through disciplined action.
The Implementation Pathway has provided me with more than just a checklist. It’s given me clarity, confidence, and direction. And it’s helped me offer the same to others.
Whether you’re a business owner, a financial professional, or simply someone stuck in the cycle of too many ideas and too little action—this is your invitation: Start small. Stay consistent. Surround yourself with the right people.
