How It Works
The Problem
The Implementation Gap
Most high-net-worth individuals and business owners don't lack advice. They lack execution.
Your CPA recommends a new entity structure. Your attorney suggests updating your estate plan. Your wealth manager proposes a portfolio rebalance. Your insurance professional identifies coverage gaps.
All good advice. But who coordinates it? Who tracks deadlines? Who ensures your CPA and attorney are aligned? Who follows up when documents sit unsigned for months?
In the traditional advisory model, that responsibility falls on you. You become the project manager for your own financial life - coordinating meetings, forwarding documents, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Collective VFO changes that equation. We sit at the center of your advisory team, coordinating strategy and overseeing implementation so you can focus on your business and family.
We don't just advise - we quarterback.
The MAP Process
Mastermind Advanced Planning
Seven stages designed to move you from scattered advice to executed strategies.
Proactive Planning Phase
We begin with a comprehensive diagnostic using our CIQ process to review your tax, legal, entity, estate, and investment landscape. Our goal is to identify risks, inefficiencies, and high-impact opportunities.
Deliverables:
- Diagnostic summary with prioritized planning areas
- Risk and opportunity assessment
- Initial roadmap
Your Role:
Complete the Diagnostic, provide documents, and answer questions about goals, priorities, and concerns.
We formalize scope, confirm priorities from the diagnostic, and define clear roles. This ensures everyone understands responsibilities, expectations, and the engagement structure before moving forward.
Deliverables:
- Signed engagement agreement
- Confirmed priorities (3-6 focus areas)
- Defined roles and scope
Your Role:
Review, confirm priorities, and commit to the process.
We assess whether your priorities require expertise beyond your current advisory team. When specialized knowledge is needed, we introduce and coordinate the appropriate specialists from our Virtual Family Office of 75+ experts.
Deliverables:
- Assessment of specialist needs
- Introduction to relevant experts
- Coordination plan for specialist involvement
Your Role:
Approve specialist involvement and participate in introductory calls.
When complexity requires it, we conduct focused analysis - such as entity modeling, tax projections, or estate scenario planning - to validate strategy direction. Not every engagement requires this step.
Deliverables:
- Detailed analysis and modeling
- Technical documentation supporting strategy recommendations
- Coordinated input from specialists and your existing advisors
Your Role:
Provide additional information as needed and review findings with us.
We present coordinated strategy options, outline tradeoffs, and model potential outcomes. You maintain full control over final decisions.
Deliverables:
- Strategy options presentation
- Financial modeling and scenario planning
- Coordinated recommendations from your full advisory team
Your Role:
Evaluate options and select strategies to pursue.
Solution Implementation Phase
Before implementation begins, you receive a complete execution plan, including timelines, responsibilities, and cost estimates. Nothing moves forward without your approval.
Deliverables:
- Finalized implementation plan
- Detailed cost estimates
- Defined responsibilities
Your Role:
Review, ask questions, and approve the implementation plan.
We coordinate execution across your advisory team - tracking deadlines, managing communication, and ensuring follow-through. You remain in control while we manage the process. You no longer have to manage your advisors. We do.
Deliverables:
- Executed strategies
- Compliance tracking
- Progress visibility across workstreams
Your Role:
Approve documents and provide required information.
After Implementation: Your Ongoing Partnership
What Ongoing Partnership Includes:
- Quarterly progress check-ins
- Annual comprehensive strategy refresh
- Proactive alerts for tax law changes or new opportunities
- Coordination as new priorities emerge
- Access to our specialist network as needs evolve
